EcoDress-grinding is a new grinding invention for technical machining of indexable inserts made of very hard cutting materials based on the Agathon 400 Series (High production and precision grinding center for economical, complete machining of indexable inserts).
The periphery grinding of indexable inserts makes very high and partly contradictory demands on the machine and machining concept of indexable inserts periphery grinding machines. At Agathon, our goal is to cope with the need for highly flexible machining of indexable inserts (i.e. cost efficient, highly automated and in accordance with a variable part spectrum) and this goal has been achieved with the periphery grinding machine production center Agathon 400 Series. The solution to the technical problems regarding the machining of indexable inserts, made of such cutting materials as Cermet, PCB and PCD has been to find new approaches with the development of the ECD grinding method for the two machine types. |
